Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Habishine is built to respect your data. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You need an account to use Habishine, so your habits and tasks can sync across your devices.
- We store your email address and the content you create, on secure cloud infrastructure in the United States.
- We collect crash diagnostics to fix bugs — with no personal content attached.
- We measure how the app is used, through Google Analytics, to make it better — never with your habit or task text, and never for advertising.
- We never sell or rent your data, show you ads, or track you across other apps.
- If you choose to connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, it can read and change your habits and tasks on your behalf — only after you sign in, and only until you disconnect it.
- You can delete your account and data at any time, from inside the app.
Information we collect
Account information
To create an account you provide an email address and a password. Authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito; your password is managed by that service and we never see or store it in plain text.
You can also sign in with Google or Apple instead of a password. When you do, that provider confirms who you are and tells us the email address for your account — we never receive your password, we do not post anything to those accounts, and we do not read anything else from them. We do not ask Google or Apple for your name. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, the only address we ever see is the private relay address Apple gives us.
If you sign in with Google or Apple using the same email address as an existing account, we link the two so you keep one account and all of your content, rather than starting over with an empty one.
Content you create
We store the content you add to the app so it can sync across your devices: habit and task names, emoji and colors, schedules and reminder times, completion and check-in history, pinned items, projects, tags, and your in-app preferences. This is your content — you can edit or delete it at any time. A copy is also kept on your device so the app keeps working without a connection, and any changes you make offline are sent to us the next time you're online.
Notifications and reminders
Reminders and daily summaries are sent from our servers, not scheduled on your device. If you turn them on, your device gives us a push notification token that we store so we can deliver them, and we store the times you choose, your quiet hours, and your time zone so each notification arrives at the right local time.
Because the notification is composed on our servers, its text can include the name of the habit or task it's about. We record that a notification was sent, so the same reminder isn't sent twice, and whether you opened it, so we can tell whether the reminders we send are worth sending. Notification permission is requested only when you turn reminders on — never at launch — and you can turn them off at any time.
Diagnostics and crash data
In released versions of the app, we use Sentry to collect crash reports so we can find and fix bugs. These reports contain technical information such as the error, the code location where it happened, your device model and operating system version, and whether a session ended in a crash. They are configured to exclude personal information — we do not send IP addresses, usernames, request contents, or your habit and task text. Crash reporting is disabled in development builds.
Usage analytics
In released versions of the app, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used — for example, which screens are opened, whether people finish signing up, whether they turn on reminders, start a trial, or create their first habit — so we can see where the app is confusing and improve it.
These events are linked to your account ID and to an app-specific identifier Google Analytics assigns to your installation. They also include your device model, operating system and app version. Google uses your IP address to estimate your country and city; Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We never send your email address, or the names or text of your habits and tasks.
We do not collect your device's advertising identifier, we have turned off Google's advertising features, and this data is not used for advertising or shared with advertisers.
The web app at app.habishine.com sends the same usage analytics as the iOS app, through Google Analytics, linked to your account ID in the same way. It sets a first-party analytics cookie on app.habishine.com for that purpose and nothing else.
This website also uses Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time: cookie settings.
AI assistants you connect
You can connect an AI assistant — such as Claude, ChatGPT, or another tool that supports the Model Context Protocol — to your Habishine account, so it can see your day, add and complete tasks, check in habits, and write reviews for you. This is entirely optional and happens only when you add Habishine as a connector in that assistant and sign in with your Habishine account. See how it works.
When you do, the assistant's provider (for example Anthropic for Claude, or OpenAI for ChatGPT) receives the habit and task information the assistant asks for in order to answer you — names, dates, schedules, completion and check-in history, projects and tags — and can create, change or delete that content on your behalf. We never share your password: you sign in on our site, and the assistant receives a token that works only for your account and only for this connection. The assistant cannot delete your account, change your subscription, or access your notification settings.
What the assistant's provider does with the information it receives is governed by that provider's own privacy policy, not this one. We do not receive or store your conversations with the assistant.
We record which assistants you have connected and when each was last used, so you can see them in Settings → Account → Connected apps and disconnect any of them. Disconnecting takes effect immediately; deleting your account disconnects every assistant.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: sign you in and sync your habits and tasks across your devices.
- To send the reminders and daily summaries you choose to enable.
- To understand whether those notifications are useful, from whether they are opened.
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs, using the diagnostic data described above.
- To understand how the app is used and improve it, using the usage analytics described above.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Subscription information
Habishine Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription — through the App Store on iPhone, or by card at app.habishine.com. Apple or Stripe processes the payment; we never see or store your card details.
We receive a record of your subscription status: whether it is active, in a free trial, or lapsed, and when the current period ends. We need it to unlock the features you have paid for. It is linked to your account and contains no payment information.
Where your data is stored
Your data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States (the US East / N. Virginia region). It is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
Service providers we share with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the app, and only for that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, database, authentication (Amazon Cognito), and notification delivery (Amazon SNS).
- Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them, to confirm who you are and provide the email address for your account.
- Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver notifications to your device.
- Sentry — to receive the crash diagnostics described above.
- Google (Google Analytics for Firebase, and Google Analytics on this website) — to receive the usage analytics described above.
- Apple — to process subscription payments made through the App Store.
- Stripe — to process subscription payments made on the web.
- RevenueCat — to manage subscription status and tell our servers when a subscription starts, renews, or ends, and to run checkout and billing for subscriptions bought on the web.
- AI assistant providers you choose (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) — only if you connect their assistant to your account, as described above, and only the habit and task information the assistant requests.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't show ads or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites, so the app shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Your choices and rights
You're in control of your data:
- Edit or delete content — change or remove any habit or task at any time in the app.
- Delete your account — go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your habits, tasks, history, and sign-in identity from our servers. It can't be undone.
- Manage notifications — turn reminders and the daily summary on or off in Settings or in your device settings.
- Disconnect an AI assistant — go to Settings → Account → Connected apps and tap Disconnect; it loses access immediately.
- Access or export — email support@habishine.com to request a copy of your data or ask questions about your rights, including any rights you have under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Data retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the associated data is removed from our systems. Routine encrypted backups may persist for a short period before they are overwritten.
Children's privacy
Habishine is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes will also be reflected in the app.
